2004 Former Rochesterian, Joe Locke calls his band "Four Walls of Freedom". The sax player player is from Scotland and he likes to wear a skirt. They sounded great. The Times of London nails it by saying"Locke, with his ability to play cool and funky, heady and relaxed, is set to become the pre-eminent vibraphonist in jazz." The last time we saw him was at Jenks and Jones over on Genesee Street. He still has family and friends here so don't miss him next time he touches down in Rochester.
