Olindos, out on Lyell Avenue near Mt. Read, has a warehouse sized store chock full of Italian specialties. I go there to buy olive oil. Those big cans of cold pressed are about half the price out there as they are at Tops. While I'm there I always pick up olives as well. These are from Spain. In Spain when you order a beer it is likely to come with a small plate of green olives similar to the one shown at the right.

These olives are nothing fancy, just olives, water, salt and some lactic acid. They still have the pits so they are nice and firm. They're queen size and the jar is 10 ounces. Olindos sells these for $2.19. Next time you have friends over for beer, try putting out a plate of these.
