I've collected a few photos of Durand
Eastman Park and posted them here. There is nothing
special about these photos but there is something special about
this park at the northern end of Rochester, New York. It is
situated on the shores of Lake Ontario and it contains two
large ponds named "Durand" and "Eastman". The trails around
the ponds are a bird lovers' paradise and the miles of unmarked trails through
the woods to the south of these ponds are less traveled but
just as beautiful. Just watch
out for golf balls when you cross the golf course. I got hit in
the head by an errant shot. Someone yelled "Fore". I looked
up and it hit me right between the eyes. I heard someone say,
"Holy shit, you hit somebody" and then they took off. I begged a
ride from some golfers on the next tee. They were smoking cigars
and I got blood on one of their yellow sweaters. I needed nine stitches but Durand is worth it.
