In
1976 I had a job working as a graphic artist for the Rochester
Police Department in the Crime Analysis Unit. My job desciption
gave me access to the crime records and I became fascinated
with mug shots. There was a local
record in the files of David Bowie's pot bust but someone had
already swiped the photo. These 24 faces were painted from the
local Crime Stoppers page
in Rochester's Democrat & Chronicle. Although painted indivdually,
they were mounted together and shown in the Memorial Art Gallery's
Finger Lakes Exhibition 2000.
